A Digital imaging raw skills workflow to test simple skills . There are 2 folders, One called Line, and one called BPool. The image above is line . Each one has a raw file from a Nikon D800, and a final processed JPEG. My job was to process the raw file to the same standard, tonal quality etc. as the example raw file (Colour balance is up to me as it is subjective). We need to pay attention to detail, zoom to even 200%, and ensure that your work is as good, or better than the demonstration JPEG.

Firstly as above i test by eye using adobe camera raw to bring it as close as possible before I open the image in photoshop

After opening in PS5 and zooming in i noticed the workers at the end of the line which are not visible in the final image so I used spot healing and clone stamp to get it looking as close as possible to the final jpeg .

I used the same simple procedure with adobe camera raw and checking by eye using the tonal controls , sharpness and zooming in etc with the final image below called Bpool .

I also used smart filters and objects with smart sharpen to try and get a more accurate and better quality sharpened image as the final i was trying to resemble . I didn’t feel i needed to spend too much time on them to gain an accurate result
