My first wetplate colloidon it was a bit underexposed . This was a 30 second exposure it needed 60 then i think it would of been perfect , but due to time and materials it wasn’t possible . Wet Plate uses only uv light you have to guess the exposure with trial and error . Each one is work of art in itself and can never be repeated . There is something surreal and mysterious about wetplate that intrigues me . I am making my own mobile darkroom and in the process of waiting for chemicals to arrive and the equipment purchased from http://www.johnbrewerphotography.com . Silver nitrate box , positive colloidon and developer , stop , fix and the black aluminium plates to work on . I am also getting some glass which is materialistically personal that i am going to put my final images on . Really excited and looking forward this .
Yes, exposure is THE tricky bit for sure!
